This app quickly rose in popularity and peaked at 60,000 votes during the "Bad Girls' Club" hour of airing. This is in addition to the polling it does of the database every 15 seconds. The efficiency was achieved with very lean PHP, and using AMFPHP for a binary connection from Flash. The server was already heavily taxed with a Twitter aggregator at the same time, so there was very little wiggle room.

I also did another Flash voting app to vote for the individual girls on the "Bad Girls' Club".
